I'm the first to admit that I know little about mod_perl and even less
about mod_perl 2, but that seems a bit weird to me. As I understand it
Apache::Request isn't included with mod_perl 2 and will only build on a
system with mod_perl 1 installed, so I don't see how that will even
compile on a system (like mine) that has only ever had mod_perl 2
installed. That's certainly the behaviour that I'm seeing.

Of course, I could be missing something completely obvious here, in 
which case I'd be only to happy to have it pointed out to me.
