Please find our news attached... Simon & Henrietta >From the Inside --------------- For the past few months, the focus in our lives has shifted slightly - it?s not so much about what we?ve been doing, but more about what God?s been doing in us. What it?s all about We?re at Redcliffe mission training college here in Gloucester to help us prepare for future church planting work in Japan when we return at the end of this year. The formal studies are extremely helpful in getting us to think about some of the issues that we?ll come across working in church leadership in Asia, but perhaps just as much of the preparation is coming from some of the personal and practical elements of our time at Redcliffe. Henrietta was asked (and agreed!) to take leadership of our college community group this past term, and has also organised and led worship services at the college and at the local hospital chapel. These experiences taught her more about being firm when necessary in decision making, and being patient when leading others through a process of organisation - especially when people work at varying paces! Simon?s leadership course includes a lot of personal and spiritual reflection on character formation, and he?s been looking specifically at ?what lies beneath? his character - what happens to him when he?s under stress, and why he can sometimes be too striving and driven in his work. It?s been quite painful sometimes, but well worth it. On a lighter note, he enjoyed writing about the leadership qualities of Winnie the Pooh and friends for one piece of work! We?ve also been both challenged and encouraged by our fellow students, who we invite around to dinner when we can! One year on At the end of this month, we?ll celebrate another major source of character development for both of us - our first year of marriage! It?s been a wonderful first year - we?ve seen a lot of changes in our life together so far, but we?re thankful to God for everything that he?s given us. Henrietta & Simon Prayer Points * Please pray that we can grow in the areas that God has been highlighting to us. * Pray that we will maintain joy while doing our essays and course work! * Thank God for all that we?ve learnt in our first year together! -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
