Summer is a busy time for ministry and this month Seeds of Grace focuses on=
our main summer ministry opportunity =96 WEC Japan Summer Camps.=20
Thank you for continuing to read our monthly news and prayer points. We hop=
e you will be inspired to pray for these special days.=20
Blessings=2C Jessica
News & Prayer Points
Firstly=2C please pray for the remainder of the Summer Camps being held in =
the first two weeks of August. We pray that God will work in the hearts of =
many Japanese=2C and that the camps would be effective and enjoyable.=20
As August is an especially hot and humid month in Japan=2C energy levels ar=
e usually running low. Please pray for our workers who are taking holidays =
back in their home countries =96 spending time with family and reconnecting=
with sending churches.
Please continue to join us to pray for the nation of Japan. Especially pray=
that the hearts of the Japanese would soften and be open towards God.
Churches in Japan often have a high percentage of women making up the congr=
egations. Please join with us to pray for more Japanese men to find salvati=
on through Jesus. We would also love for more Japanese men to become active=
within the church and take on leadership roles=2C despite their busy work =
schedules.
International Day Camp 2008
Monday July 21 saw 60 people aged from 6 months to 65 years old taking part=
in the first of our 2008 summer camps =96 our International Day Camp. =20
We enjoyed a full day of games=2C English teaching=2C time to chat=2C some =
German activities and songs=2C a bountiful lunch=2C a bible message=2C swim=
ming in the lake and playtime on the beach.=20
This year it was especially encouraging to see some single men and husbands=
from Christian and non-Christian Japanese families join in the camp.=20
Many of the campers who come along to the summer camps are the friends that=
are made throughout the year in English classes=2C church services=2C Bibl=
e studies=2C Japanese language classes=2C as well as church members and fam=
ily.=20
The Camps are held on the shores of Lake Biwa=2C Shiga-Ken at the WEC Japan=
Campsite =96 which provides a relaxed and peaceful environment=20
away from the busyness of everyday life in Japan. There are plenty of oppor=
tunities for water sports=2C swimming=2C games=2C volleyball=2C barbecues a=
nd relaxing on the shore.=20
The greatest opportunity of all=2C though=2C is the chance that we as missi=
onaries and Japanese Christians have to share our lives and stories with th=
e campers who are interested in hearing more about God. Others are simply l=
ooking for some encouragement and friendship.=20
It is great to see that many families and friends continue to come back yea=
r after year to join in the camps.=20
We pray that God will continue to use these camps to reveal more of Himself=
to the Japanese people.=20
Thank you again for your prayers.=20
Please check out our Website at www.wec-japan.org for more arti-cles and ne=
ws about what is happening in Japan at the moment.=20
